India was good with the defence while there were circle penetrations and counter-attacks by Indian strikers. The first three-quarters of the game were goalless, while the tension was at its peak for the final quarter.

The game saw a total of three green cards, with Sorsby Thomas getting one in the third quarter while Amit Rohidas and Jarmanpreet Singh got it in the final quarter. With Jarmanpreet’s green card, India was playing with a man down, and that too a defender who is an integral part of India’s penalty defence line.

The penalty corners were not a good sign for India and as the Indian coach Graham Reid said at half-time, India needs to tighten their defence.
