Legends League: Gautam Gambhir & Sreesanth get into heated duel, VIDEO emerges; latter ‘hurt’ with ‘Mr Fighter’

The argument took place during the Legends League Cricket eliminator match between India Capitals and Gujrat Giants.

New Delhi: The former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir and former Indian pacer S Sreesanth, get into a heated argument during the Legends League Cricket season 2, eliminator match between Gambhir’s India Capitals and S Sreesanth’s Gujrat Giants.

After finishing third and fourth in the points table, the defending champions India Capitals and Gujrat Titans took on each other in the eliminator match on Wednesday with a place in qualifier 2 on the line.

The incident took place during the second over of the first when Gambhir hit Sreesanth for a six and four, respectively, in back-to-back deliveries. The two were seen exchanging words in a heated manner after that.

The situation was later neutralized after the interference of umpires and other players.

The actual reason behind the argument has not been disclosed as of yet, but Sreesanth, however, has come up with a video to clear the air.

Sreesanth shares a video to give his take

Gautam Gambhir’s India Capitals defeated the Gujrat Giants by 12 runs to qualify for the qualifier 2 match against the Manipal Tigers, but not before the eruption of a huge controversy between him and Gujrat Giants pacer S Sreesanth.

After the match, Sreesanth shared a video on his Instagram handle, giving his take on the matter.

In the video, Sreesanth said, “Just wanted to clear the air with what happened with Mr. Fighter. One who always fights with all his colleagues. For no reason whatsoever. He does not even respect his senior players, including Viru bhai. That’s exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept on calling me something which was very rude and shouldn’t have been said by Mr. Gautam Gambhir.”

“I am not at all at fault here. I just wanted to clear the air straightaway. What Mr. Gauti has done, sooner or later all of you will get to know. The words which he used and the things he said on a cricket field, live, is not acceptable. My family, my state, everybody has gone through so much. I fought that battle with all your support. Now people want to down me for no reason. He said things he shouldn’t have said. I will surely let you know what he said,” the former Indian pacer added.

Sreesanth’s match-fixing controversy

In 2013, S Sreesanth was accused by the Delhi Police of being involved in a spot-fixing scandal, along with two of his teammates, while playing for the Rajasthan Royals side in IPL.

He was banned from International Cricket for a lifetime, and despite getting a clean chit in 2015 from the Delhi High Court, he never made his comeback to international cricket.
