‘Had tough time in T20…’: Brian Lara interviews Harry Brook after he scores first ton of IPL 2023 (VIDEO)

After the win, coach Brian Lara interviewed the English batter where he talked about his stunning knock.

New Delhi: Harry Brook scored the first hundred of IPL 2023 and his 100* off 55 helped Sunrisers Hyderabad post 228 on the board and win the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Opening the inning, he attacked KKR’s pace attack from the first ball. After the win, coach Brian Lara interviewed the English batter where he talked about his stunning knock.

Talking about his ton, Brook said that he had a tough time in T20 cricket recently but scoring in front of a big crowd was amazing. Initially, he was batting in the middle order and was promoted to open in the last two games. Lara asked Brook about how he felt opening the batting for SRH. He replied that people say that it is the best spot to bat as it gives time.

Brian Lara, who is often seen playing golf, asked Brook if playing golf helped him strengthen mentally and he replied that he is happy and has plenty of games left. Lara mentioned that the English batter has a Test wicket to his name and asked if he wanted to bowl with 32 left in the last over. Harry answered that he would back himself to defend 32 but he would not like to bowl.

Lara also shared some tweets by English players appreciating Harry Brook’s knock.

In the game, Brook score a ton hitting 12 fours and 3 sixes while SRH skipper Aiden Markram scored a fifty off 26. Abhishek Sharma assisted the total with his 32 off 17 while Henrich Klaasen gave a perfect finish with 16* off 6. While Andre Russell picked three wickets, he could not control runs and only Sunil Narine was somewhat economical with his four overs for 28.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar got Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over and Marco Jensen and Mayank Markande picked two wickets each to push KKR to 96/5. KKR skipper Nitish Rana played an incredible knock 75 off 41 to keep his team alive in the game. Rinku Singh scored 58* off 31 but could manage to take the total to 205 as they lost by 23 runs.
