New Delhi: As India won against Zimbabwe in the three-match ODI series and South Africa comfortably beats England in the first Test match, there are some positives for both the teams in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Me’s Cricket Rankings. The ongoing Asia Cup Qualifiers 2022 has also led to some changes on the rankings table.
Test rankings
Kagiso Rabada got his name on the Honours Board at Lord’s after taking seven wickets in the first Test against England. he took a five-wicket haul in the first inning and got the Englishmen all out for 165. He jumped three spots to become the current number 3 Test bowler just behind Pat Cummins and Ravichandran Ashwin. Anrich Nortje made an impressive jump of 14 spots to be in 25th position after six wickets in the match. His fellow teammate Marco Jansen came from the 40th to the 33rd spot after taking four wickets.
The Proteas’ captain Dean Elgar jumped one spot to be in the 13th spot while Ben Stokes fell two spots down. Ollie Pope, who scored 73(102) in the first inning has come from the 55th position to the 45, while South Africa’s opener Sarel Erwee made a jump to end up in the 65th spot after his 73(146).
ODI rankings
After Shubman Gill scored 245 runs in three games against Zimbabwe, including his maiden century, he jumped from 93 to the 38th spot. Sikandar Raza, scored 143 at an average of 47.66, including a century, to jump to 25th position. Meanwhile, Babar Azam still sits at the top with a major gap between him and Rassie Van Der Dussen, who is in the 2nd position.
Kuldeep Yadav also jumped four spots after taking three wickets in the series. While Prasidh Krishna, who took four in two games, fell down as his previous rating was 481 vs West Indies and now he is at 54th spot with 473 points.
