IND v HKG Asia Cup 2022: Virat bows down to Suryakumar Yadav, netizens call it ‘picture of the day’

Not only did Virat clap and appreciate the inning, but he also bowed to show respect towards his teammate.

New Delhi: India won their second game of Asia Cup 2022 after beating Hong Kong. After a slow start, Virat Kohli provided stability with his fifty and Suryakumar Yadav firepower with 68* off 26 balls. Meanwhile, what caught everyone’s attention was Virat’s reaction to the sixes hit by Suryakumar. Not only did Virat clap and appreciate the inning, but he also bowed to show respect towards his teammate.

The reaction was caught on camera as the batters were returning to the pavilion after a great partnership. Suryakumar Yadav hit four sixes in the final over by Haroon Arshad and helped India to reach a total of 192. Kohli was enjoying his inning from the other end of the wicket and clapped to cheer up the crowd.

After the game, both of them also did a short interview video, that was posted by BCCI. In the video, Kohli can be seen appreciating the inning played by his partner, while Surya told that he needed Virat by his side so he could play freely. In the end, they chanted ‘Ganpati Bappa Moriya’ and wished their fans Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.

Their fans poured in with a lot of comments about Virat’s reaction and the important partnership between them.

A sweet hug between them became the ‘picture of the day’ for their fans.

Virat Kohli could not believe the inning played by SKY and was totally surprised and overjoyed at the same time.

In the game, Virat scored 59* off 44 balls and Suryakumar scored 68*(26), including six sixes and six fours. For Hong Kong, Babar Hayat scored 41 off 35 and Kinchit Shah scored 30 off 28. In the end, Zeeshan Ali and Scott McKechnie provided a fine finish with 26*(17) and 16*(8) but could not chase the total. In the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravindra Jadeja, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh took a wicket each while Avesh and Arshdeep were expensive in their four overs. Meanwhile, Virat also rolled his arms to bowl an over, he gave six runs in the single over he bowled.

After Afghanistan, India is the second team to qualify for the Super 4s after a 40-run victory over Hong Kong.
