Mohammad Wasim, who turned 21 a few days ago, complained of pain in his lower back during a bowling session at the ICC Academy. He was part of all three training sessions for Pakistan before the incident happened. The pacer was taken for precautionary MRI scans as the board did not want to take a risk with the youngster’s fitness, looking forward to the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The reports said that he had suffered a side strain.

Hasan Ali, who is not in a good form currently, was asked as the replacement by the team management. Earlier, Naseem Shah was picked up as Ali’s replacement in the team seeing his poor form. Ali has played eight T20I games in the last year and has managed to take just eight wickets and in the three ODIs in the last 12 months, he averaged 76.50. He played nine games in the last PSL and picked just nine wickets with an economy rate of 10.84.
