The build-up between any India-Pakistan match usually starts much before the first ball is bowled. However, this time the controversy has revolved around the exorbitant ticket prices that have made it difficult for fans of both sides to watch the match.

“Shocked to learn…”- Lalit Modi

Amidst all the speculations ahead of the match, former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has come out and criticised the ICC for selling tickets at exorbitant prices. “Shocked to learn that ICC is selling tickets for Diamond Club at $ 2oooo per seat for the #indvspak WC game. The WC in the US is for game expansion & fan engagement…

According to Lalit Modi, the tickets for the marquee clash are sold 10 times the normal price without any reason (16 lakh rupees in Indian rupees). However, ICC has justified itself that the price range of the tickets starts from $ 300 and goes all the way to $ 10,000. The bone of contention is the Diamond Club section for which the ICC has not issued any statement yet. It remains to be seen now what steps the board takes to lower down the ticket prices.
