
New Delhi: The Indian women’s team continued their dominant run in the test matches, as they extended their lead over the Australian women’s team in the one-off test match’s day 2, on Friday.
India, who dominated the test match against the English women’s team, last week, are once again in the driver’s seat in the test match against the Australian women’s team.
India dominated on the second straight day, except for the second session of the day. The women in blue looked totally in control throughout day 2.

Day 2 Summary
Indian women’s team started the second day from 98 for 1, while trailing by 121 runs in the first innings total of the Australian women’s team’s total.
India added 42 more runs in the first day total before Sneh Rana (9), was clean bowled by Ashley Gardner.
Smriti Mandhana (74), was also run out soon enough, reducing the Indian total to 147 for 3.

Richa Ghosh (52) and Jemimah Rodrigues (73), led the Indian recovery by adding 113 runs for the fourth wicket.

Aussie women came back strongly in the second half to take four quick wickets, to reduce India from 260 for 3 to 274 for 7, at one point.

However, Deepti Sharma (70*) and Pooja Vastrakar (33*), led a fresh Indian recovery and added 101 more runs without any wickets to take the Indian total to 376 for 7, by the end of day 2.

India now has a 157-run lead in the first innings, and the women in blue will try to take the lead past 250 before even thinking of declaring, to build some extra pressure on the Aussie women.
Day 1 Summary
On the first day, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Australian women’s team were only able to put up a total of 219 despite Tahlia McGrath’s 50 runs innings, as Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana wreaked havoc on the Aussie batting line up.
