IPL 2022: Gautam Gambhir’s pep talk to LSG players after crushing defeat… WATCH

Gautam Gambhir, the two-time IPL-winning captain told players that there was room for being complacent and being weak in a competition like the IPL.

New Delhi: In the clash between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) last evening, the latter crumbled under pressure and posted its lowest score of the season. While the team returned to the dressing room after crushing defeat, the LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir came down hard on them for not giving their best and leaving it to the fate.

LSG were bundled out for just 82 runs by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL match at MCA Stadium in Pune. The team led by skipper KL Rahul failed to defend the low score and eventually lost the game by 62 runs. Currently, the Gujarat Titans are table toppers it the IPL tournament.

The LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir came down hard on team players following its humiliating defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans. Gambhir’s pep talk is going viral on social media and also drawing appreciation from netizens.

In the video, Gambhir can be heard admonishing the players for giving up the challenge and not standing upto challenge. Gambhir told players that he was not sad over loss but perturbed over team’s ‘losing attitude’.


“There is nothing wrong in losing. It is absolutely fine. One team has to win one team has to lose. But there is a lot wrong in giving up. Today I thought that we gave up and were weak,” Gambhir could be heard saying in video uploaded by LSG on their Instagram handle.

The two-time IPL-winning captain told players that there was room for being complacent and being weak in a competition like the IPL.

“And honestly, there is no place for being weak in a tournament like the IPL or in sport. That is where the problem is. We have beaten sides in this competition but I felt today we lacked the game sense, which was more important,” he said.

GST, 1st team to quality for playoffs

Gujarat Titans have topped the IPL charts and are the first team to quality for playoffs.

In the last night, it chose to bat first and posted a total of 144 runs with a sublime knock from Shubman Gill, 63 runs off 49 balls.
In reply to Titan’s modestly big score, the entire LSG team was bowled out for a paltry 82 runs.
