New Delhi: Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are facing each other in the 46th match of IPL 2023 played in Mohali. The second over of the game witnessed an unusual incident where the bowler was unhappy with the umpire’s decision and the batter decided to walk off. Arshad Khan was sure that he had picked the wicket but the umpire did not agree with him.
On the third ball of the second over, MI pacer Arshad Khan made a loud appeal after PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh got an outside edge which landed in wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan’s gloves. The umpire did not hear the edge and did not give it out while Arshad was heard saying, “Ungli nahi utha rha…” (He’s not lifting a finger…).

Before MI could decide to take the DRS, Prabhsimran showed sportsmanship and left the field as he knew he got the edge.
It was a short ball, pitched on middle and off, and came angling away from the batter. Prabhsimran went to slash it away but got an outside edge and the ball travelled to the keeper’s gloves for a comfortable catch and he had to depart for 9 off 7.

After MI got a great start by dismissing power-hitter Prabhsimran Singh, Shikhar Dhawan and Matthew Short fired in the powerplay. The batters took the score from 13/1 in 1.3 overs to 50/1 in six overs. Skipper Dhawan scored 23* off 15, hitting four boundaries while Short scored 18* off 14, hitting two fours and a six.
MI has not included Suryakumar Yadav in the playing XI and kept him as an Impact Player while Akash Madhawal replaced the injured Meredith. On the other hand, PBKS brought in Matthew Short in place of Atharv Taide and Nathan Ellis has replaced Kagiso Rabada in the Impact Players’ list.
