New Delhi: Kane Williamson got a knee injury in the curtain opener for IPL 2023 and as per the latest reports, the Kiwi batter is likely to be ruled out of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. He will be going for surgery on his right knee as he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while saving a six for Gujarat Titans.
He is likely to go under surgery within the next three weeks and including the time for recovery and rehab, it seems unlikely that he will be available for selection for New Zealand’s World Cup squad.

Kane Williamson took this opportunity to thank Gujarat Titans and his New Zealand’s support staff and teammates for their support. He said that surgery and rehab are his current focus and added that he looks forward to supporting coach Gary Kirsten and his IPL team over the next few months.
