Legends League Cricket, Season 2: Battle of survival between Bhilwara Kings and Southern Super Stars

Both the teams have 2 points from their 3 matches so far.

New Delhi: The second season of Legends League Cricket, has arrived in its third leg and all the teams are now putting everything they have to offer to make it to the final 4 of the tournament.

Manipal Tigers and Urbanrisers Hyderabad are the most comfortable teams at the moment with 4 points in 3 matches and are sitting at the first and second position of the table respectively.

However, things are entirely different for the Southern Super Stars and Bhilwara Kings, who only have 2 points from 3 matches and are sitting at the fifth and sixth position respectively, in the six-team tournament.

Both the teams will be taking on each other in match number 10 of the season at the Molana Azad Stadium in Jammu on Wednesday.

When the two struggling teams of the season lock horns against each other, they will have only one thing going behind their brain, i.e., survive to reach the next stage of the tournament as the losing side’s journey will come to an almost end in the tournament, if not the end of the tournament.

Banking on big names

Both teams will be placing bets on their big names to get them over the line in the all-important match on Tuesday.

Irfan Pathan-led Bhilwara Kings, after winning the first match against the Indian Capitals by 3 wickets, lost the next two against Gujrat Giants and Manipal Tigers by 3 and 89 runs, respectively.

The Kings would want their openers Lendl Simmons and Solomon Mire to give them an aggressive start, while also hoping that their bowling department, consisting of the likes of Rahul Sharma and skipper Irfan Pathan stop their opposition on a small total.

On the other hand, Ross Taylor-led Southern Super Stars will be coming into the match, with some much-needed momentum on their side after defeating the table toppers Manipal Tigers by 5 wickets on Monday, after losing their first two matches against Urbanrisers Hyderabad and Indian Capitals by 13 runs and 7 wickets respectively.

The Stars will hope that their batsmen after a series of disappointing performances will finally show up at the deciding match and provide their bowlers some much-needed support to keep their tournament alive.
