New Delhi: The second season of the Legends League Cricket, is getting heated up with every passing match now, and the race for the final 4 has started to intensify.
In match number 8, of the ongoing season of the LLC, the undefeated Urbanrisers Hyderabad went up against Gujrat Giants, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, in Dehradun on Sunday.
Gujrat Giants’ stand-in skipper, Jacques Kallis, won the toss and decided to bat first.
The skipper Kallis (9), got out cheaply, but Richard Levi (49) and Chris Gayle (29), added 69 runs for the second wicket to stabilize the innings.
In the end, Dhruv Raval (29*) and Rajat Bhatia (39*), added 63 runs for the sixth wicket to take the Giants’ innings to 193 for 5 after the end of 20 overs.
Stuart Binny, was the most successful bowler for the Urbanrisers team, with 2 wickets under his belt, Chris Mpofu, Jerome Taylor and Devendra Bishoo, also took one wicket each.
In reply, Urbanrisers also lost their first wicket cheaply, when Sreesanth dismissed Martin Guptill (1), in the second over.
Dwayne Smith (50), took the Urbanrisers innings forward as removed by Prasanna, to push the batting team on the back foot.
Peter Trego (59), tried his best to take his team home but fell one run short, handing the Giants their second win of the season.

S Sreesanth and Sulieman Benn were the main wicket takers for the Giants with 2 wickets each, while Rayad Emrit, Sarabjit Ladda and Seekkuge Prasanna, took one wicket each.

This was the first loss for the Urbanrisers in the tournament, however, it will cause much concern in their camp as they are still very comfortable at the second spot in the points table.
