New Delhi: The second season of Legends League Cricket is in its endgame, and after 2 more games, we will get the overall champions of the season.

Starting with 6, only three teams are now left in the race for the ultimate silverware, i.e., Urbanrisers Hyderabad, Manipal Tigers and the defending champions India Capitals.

Earlier, Urbanrisers defeated the Manipal Tigers in the qualifier 1, to book their place in the finals of season 2, and sending the Tigers to qualifier 2, for their last chance to play the finals.

Gujarat Giants and India Capitals, who finished in third and fourth positions in the points table, respectively, faced each other on Wednesday in the eliminator at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.

Gujarat Titans’ skipper Parthiv Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first.

India Capitals started the innings on a positive note, with openers, Kirk Edwards (26) and Gautam Gambhir (51), adding 65 runs for the first wicket.

Except, for Gautam Gambhir, no other batsmen were able to convert their start, but still, with the help of collective efforts from Kevin Pietersen (26), Ricardo Powell (28), Ben Dunk (30) and Bharat Chipli (35), Capitals finished their innings with a massive total of 223 for 7.

Rayad Emrit and Rajat Bhatia were the most successful bowlers for the Giants, with two wickets each.
