“Might die…” Woller Akos shares Vinesh Phogat’s shared her FAILED weight loss story

Woller Akos who was the coach of former Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has revealed the journey of Vinesh Phogat’s weight loss transformation.

New Delhi: Former Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat who received the final judgement from the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) was heartbroken after her plea for a shared silver medal was rejected. The Indian grappler grabbed the headlines when she defeated the world no.1 Yuis Susaki.

However, in an unfortunate turn of events, Vinesh was found 100g over the prescribed weight restriction and was subsequently disqualified. Following this she appealed in the CAS for either a weigh-in or a joint silver medal. However, recently when the final verdict came, the CAS rejected both her pleas and she had to return from Paris empty-handed.

Nevertheless, the weight loss journey Vinesh has been an inspirational journey which showcased her dedication towards the sport as well as that prized medal.

Before leaving for the Paris Olympics 2024, Vinesh Phogat who was part of the wrestler’s protest had said to the then-president of WFI, Brij Bhushan “Gold laake dikhaungi. ” Her attempt to prove Brij Bhushan may have hit a dead end, the backdoor story revealed by Woller Akos has given a lot of inspiration for people.

Subsequently, Vinesh was hospitalised in the morning when she was about to play the final bout due to excessive dehydration. Woller added that the conversation that he had with Vinesh on her way back home was also important. Vinesh Phogat said, “Coach, don’t be sad because you told me that if I find myself in any difficult situation and need extra energy, I should think that I beat the best woman wrestler (Japan’s Yui Susaki) in the world.”
