Motera Stadium: Remarkable features of World’s largest Cricket’s stadium

The Sardar Patel Motera Stadium spreads across 63 acres with 3 entry points, surpassing the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia by a seating capacity of 1.10 lakh.

New Delhi: India and England heads into their third Test at the World Largest stadium located in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad. The stadium was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday. The stadium has been renovated. The third Test will be a pink ball, which is only the second Test to ever take place in India.

  1. It surpasses the exemplary Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia by a seating capacity of 1.10 lakh.
  2. The stadium includes 76 corporate boxes, all the corporate boxes are air conditioned with 25 each seating capacity.
  3. The Sardar Patel Motera Stadium spreads across 63 acres with 3 entry points.
  4. The stadium has the biggest parking space inside the premises, with 3,000 cars and 10,000 two-wheeler parking capacity. 
  5. The field is fitted with LED floodlights, which will not warm up the atmosphere. These lights will comfort the spectators and cricketers.
  6. The Motera stadium also has its own cricket academy and numerous indoor pitches to practice. It has facilities for different sports like basketball, hockey and football.
  7. It is also linked to the Ahmedabad metro, making it more convenient for the crowd.
  8. The stadium is massive with a built-in club house with 55 rooms, Olympic size swimming pool, gym, indoor and outdoor games facility, restaurants and a 3 dimensional theatre.
  9. Each stand has its own food court and a hospitality area in the Motera stadium.
