New Delhi: MS Dhoni has, reportedly, been admitted to a hospital and is set to undergo treatment for his knee. MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings to their fifth title victory in IPL 2023 as CSK beat Gujarat Titans in the finals. However, ‘Thala’ was often seen with a knee cap during the practice sessions and is set to undergo treatment for the same.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told PTI that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and might also go for surgery. There were reports that the ‘Captain Cool’ is set to undergo surgery and he also has been admitting throughout the IPL season that playing has taken a toll on his body due to his age.

While there were speculations that Dhoni might not be able to play the complete season, he again proved the level of his fitness, as he not only played and led CSK to victory, but he also scored 104 runs at an average of 26 and a strike rate of 182.46.
The 41-year-old has been evergreen behind the stumps and despite he was dismissed for a golden duck in the finals, he stumped the Orange Cap winner Shubman Gill with a reaction time of 0.1 seconds.
In the post-match presentations of the final game, Dhoni revealed that he is not retiring from IPL and is planning to play another season as a gift to his fans. However, he said that he will take the decision after six to seven months depending upon his fitness.
In the finals, Sai Sudharsan scored 96 off 47 to take GT to a score of 214. The rain-hit game was shifted to 15 overs with a revised target of 171. Devon Conway gave a great start to CSK with his 47 off 25 while Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu contributed quick 27(13) and 19(8) respectively. Ravindra Jadeja hit 10 off the last two balls to lead Super Kings to the title.
