New Delhi: Indian cricket player KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty took to social media to share the news that the couple is expecting their first child next year. The big announcement came on the Instagram id of Rahul.

KL Rahul’s bad form in Australia continues…

Meanwhile, Rahul’s bad form in Australia continues in the ongoing unofficial test series. In the two tests, Rahul has so far scored only 14 runs. The 32-year-old was also poor during the New Zealand series post which he was dropped from the side and Sarfaraz Khan was drafted in the squad.

However, former cricketer Robin Uthappa reckons that both KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran still have a lot to give back to the Indian Team. Speaking at Jio Cinema and Sports 18, Uthappa remarked:

We need someone defensive, someone who can play conventional, traditional Test cricket. As of now, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran are the ones who can play that role…

Furthermore, Uthappa added that:

I don’t see anyone else who can take on that responsibility. Everyone likes to play positively, and aggressively, and score runs at a quick pace, including someone like Shubman Gill. He is a natural stroke player, and if you ask him to play that slow role, he may not enjoy it. You might be taking away his game…

With the Indian team’s batting worries persisting for Team India, it is a high team for KL to step into the scene and take charge of the shaky middle order.
