‘Paisa Shortage League’: Twitterati roast PCB after James Faulkner withdraws from PSL

The world-renowned all-rounder took to Twitter to claim that he had been suffering non-payment issues from PCB thus had to leave mid-way

New Delhi: Australian cricketer James Faulkner announced his sudden withdrawal from Pakistan Super League (PSL) and held Pakistan Cricket Board responsible for not “honouring contractual agreement.” The world-renowned all-rounder took to Twitter to claim that he had been suffering non-payment issues from PCB thus had to leave mid-way and won’t be featuring in the last two matches against Karachi Kings and Multan Sultan.

Faulkner stated that PCB has kept him in the dark with continuous lies. He has been a “disgrace” for him as he wanted to present international cricket in Pakistan. The fast bowler played six matches his season and picked a desirable number of wickets. He also made a good batting contribution to the team.

He posted two tweets while in the first one he apologised to his fans for suddenly quitting the league in the mid-way. “I apologise to the Pakistan cricket fans. But, unfortunately, I’ve had to withdraw from the last 2 matches and leave the @thePSLt20 due to the @TheRealPCB not honouring my contractual agreement/payments,” he wrote.

“I’ve been here the whole duration and they have continued to lie to me,” he added.

“It hurts to leave as I wanted to help to get international cricket back in Pakistan as there is so much young talent and the fans are amazing. But the treatment I have received has been a disgrace from the @TheRealPCB and @thePSLt20 I’m sure you all understand my position,” his second tweet read.

Meanwhile, netizens are creating a storm on Twitter with memes related to PSL. Many even showcased their anger for the mismanagement by the Pakistan Cricket Board while some are questioning Ramiz Raja who is the current chairman of PCB.
