Pak players get mercilessly trolled for army-like training ahead of T20 World Cup, fans say, “Maksad yadd rahe…”

A large section of netizens are criticizing PCB & questioning if they want their players to play cricket or engage in a War.

New Delhi: Days ahead of the commencement of the 9th edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in USA & West Indis, players of the Pakistani cricket team are working hard to improve their physical fitness by sweating themselves out in Abbottabad situated Army school in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area.

As per the reports, all 29 players, who are part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) central contract have been sent for rigorous Army-like training by the chairman Mohsin Naqvi who believes that such intense training will help the men in green to take their strength, stamina & endurance to the next level & the same will improve their performance in the upcoming ICC Event.

Under Mosin Naqvi’s unique fitness program, Babar & his men, with the supervision of trained military officials, are now pushing their limits by undergoing numerous kinds of strength & endurance training at the camp to improve their overall physical fitness over time.

They are also sharing pictures & videos of their drills & workouts from the Boot camp and the same are going viral all over social media.

In one of such many videos, shared by Pak player Iftikhar Ahmed, Babar’s army can be seen walking uphill on a mountain while carrying heavy stones along with them.

Another similar video further shows Pak batter Azam Khan, who often faces criticism due to his heavyweight, trying to get in shape by running across the area.

In the third one, Fakhar Zaman, the opening batsman of the green team, can be seen learning how to use a sniper rifle from an army personnel.

While many Pak fans are lauding Pakistani cricket team management for making genuine efforts to get the best out of the team, a large section of netizens are also criticizing PCB & questioning if they want their players to play cricket or engage in a War.

Taking to the comments section of the Pakistani cricket team’s military training video, X users, especially from India, are now trolling the players from neighboring countries for engaging in unnecessary physical training instead of working on their cricketing skills.

What’s next for the Pakistani Cricket Team?

With the conclusion of their rigorous boot camp training, Babar & Co. will now return to the cricketing field on 18th April to take on New Zealand in a five-match T20 home series.

Following that, they will face Irland in a 3-match away T20I series right after which, the title defenders England will challenge them in 4 T20 international matches.

Finally, on 6 June 2024, the Pakistani team will kick start their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup journey by facing the host USA in their opening game of the tournament scheduled to be held at Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium.
