Asian Para Games 2023: India breaks their all-time medals record, finishes day 4 with 81 medals in account

India bested their record of 72 medals, which they set in 2018 Jakarta Para Asian Games.

New Delhi: The Indian contingent is enjoying a record-breaking outing at the 4th Para Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

India continued their momentum and added 17 more medals on day 4 to take the total number of medals to 81, which is nine more than the 72 medals record set by them in the 3rd edition of the Para Asian Games in 2018.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the Indian contingent on their historic achievement through his post on X (Formerly known as Twitter)

India also has a total of 18 gold medals in total in this edition, which is also 3 more than their 15 gold medals record in 2018.

The Indian contingent will now try to go past the magical 100 medals mark, which seems like a possibility with 3 more days still to go.

Previously, India also crossed the 100 medals mark in the Asian Games 2023, where they won a total of 107 medals, including a record 28 gold medals, surpassing their all-time best of 70 overall medals, including 16 golds, in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

Bronze to start

India opened their account on day 4 with a bronze medal in the men’s 100m T-35 event, thanks to Narayan Thakur.

India wins another bronze as Shreyansh Trivedi finishes third in the men’s 100m T-37 event.

Double success

India’s Sachin Khilari and Rohit Kumar gave India another double success event when they won gold and bronze medals, respectively, in the men’s shotput F-46 event.
