Presenter David Jones issues apology after Manchester United’s manager uses f-word on air

While Jones apologised for it, other members of the panel shared a laugh when the incident happened.

New Delhi: Manchester United scored their first victory in the league this season after beating Liverpool 2-1. In a post-match interview, United’s manager Eric ten Hag made a remark for which the broadcasters had to apologise. As Eric was in the joy of the win, he used the f-word while referring to United’s game.

The incident occurred when the presenter David Jones was talking to Eric ten Hag about the match and Eric went on to say, “You can see what they can achieve because they can f*****g play football!” Quickly, Jones took control of the situation and apologised to the viewers saying, “Sorry for the language if there was a little F-Bomb dropped in there we do apologise.”

While Jones apologised for it, other members of the panel shared a laugh when the incident happened. Former United captain Gary Neville laughed while former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, and said, “I quite enjoyed it.”

Eric, while sharing his thoughts with the Sky Sports panel said that it is all about the attitude. He mentioned that he saw good communication and fighting spirit on the field and hence United won the game.

It will be a sigh of relief for the Red Devils, who were facing troubles both on and off the field. First, the club lost to Brighton 2-1 then went down 4-0 against Brentford. Jadon Sancho scored an early goal for United and they kept the lead in the first half. Marcus Rashford extended the lead with a comfortable goal in the 53rd minute. Mohammad Salah scored the only goal for Liverpool as they went down 2-1 after full-time.
