New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag on Sunday came in support of the veteran Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha to defend him against a journalist.

It is alleged that the journalist threatened Wriddhiman not to interview him again after he ignored his calls.

Wriddhiman also shared the screenshot of the messages on Twitter.

One of the messages of the journalist read, ”You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

Criticising the journalist, the wicketkeeper wrote, ”After all of my contributions to Indian cricket…this is what I face from a so-called ”Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

Virender Sehwag retweeted the tweet of the 37-year-old cricketer with a quote. Sehwag lashed out at the journalist for disrespecting Wriddhiman. He called the message sender a ‘chamcha’. Sehwag added, ”with you Wriddhi.”

Sehwag wrote in his tweet, ”Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.”

Notably, Saha has been dropped from the squad for the Sri Lanka series. Following the removal from the team, Saha expressed his disappointment saying head coach Rahul Dravid told him to think about ”retirement”.

Saha said BCCI president Saurav Ganguly had congratulated him when he hit an unbeaten 61 against New Zealand in Kanpur. He added that Ganguly had assured him to give place in the team. He is now unable to ”understand why everything changed so fast”.

Besides, the team management also dropped Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.
