Suresh Raina to Eoin Morgan: 10 players who went unsold in IPL auction 2022

Ten big players such as Suresh Raina, Shakib Al Hasan and Eoin Morgan could not be sold in the IPL 2022 auction.

New Delhi: The IPL auction 2022 bring smiles to the face of many players, including young to experienced. Ishan Kishan becomes the most expensive player of the auction by getting a whopping Rs 15.25 crore from Mumbai Indians.

However, some big players could not get sold in the auction. We have compiled a list of players who remained unsold in the IPL auction 2022 in Bengaluru.

Among those players, Suresh Raina is the biggest name who was not purchased by any team.

The list of players is as follows:

1. Suresh Raina (Base price INR 2 crore):

In the list of all-time run-getter in the IPL, the left-hand batter comes at the fourth position. He is followed by Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma but surprisingly he went unsold in the auction. It is believed that his base price was too high at the age of 35 years for teams.

2. Shakib Al Hasan (Base price INR 2 crore)

Shakib Al Hasan stands at the second position in ICC’s T20I rankings. In IPL 2021, his performance was not good. It might have worked against him in the IPL auction 2022.

3. Steve Smith (Base price of INR 2 crore)

Steve Smith belongs to Australia and is famous as a run-making machine. He also could not get sold at the auction.

4. Imran Tahir (Base price of INR 2 crore)

Imran Tahir is a spinner from South Africa. Any team showed no interest to buy the 42-year-old player. In 2021, he had played only one match for the Chennai Super Kings.

5. Adil Rashid (Base price of INR 2 crore)

Adil is also a big player as he is in the third position in ICC’s T20I players ranking. However, he also went to the list of players who remained unsold this year.

6. Aaron Finch (Base price of INR 1.50 crore)

Australian players Aaron Finch who went unsold in the last auction was again not purchased by the team in IPL 2022 auction too.

7. Dawid Malan (Base price of INR 1.50 crore)

English cricketer Dawid Malan is currently at fifth position in the ICC’S T20I rankings. All the team in the auction decided not to offer his base price.

8. Eoin Morgan (Base price of Rs 1.50 crore)

In IPL 2021, Eoin Morgan had played for the Kolkata Knight Riders. This year, all the IPL team decided against purchasing the England white-ball skipper.

9. Tabraiz Shamsi (Base price of Rs 1 crore)

South African bowler Tabraiz Shamsi holds the second rank in the T20I format. All the 10 IPL teams showed zero interest in buying him.

In IPL 2021, Chris Lynn had placed himself in the list of the base prices of Rs 2 crore. This year, he was not bought by any team despite reducing his base price.
