Suryakumar Yadav named as ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year for his performance in 2022

New Delhi: Indian batter and the new Mr 360, Suryakumar Yadav, has won the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award for his stellar performance in 2022. The batter has scored 1164 runs in 31 matches at an average remarkable of 46.56 and a mind-blowing strike rate of 187.43. While he had a year to remember and became the nightmare for bowlers, he scored two centuries and nine fifties last year.

SKY broke many records last year and also became only the second batter to make more than 1000 runs in a calendar year in the shortest format while ending up as the highest run-getter in 2022. He also hit 68 sixes last year, the most by any batter in 2022.

From opening the inning to play at number 5, Surya has done it all while he made his home at number 4. He also ended up as the third-highest run-getter in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with 239 runs in six games with a strike rate of 189.68.

Last year, he also Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to be the number 1 batter in the T2oI rankings and has maintained his spot till now. He is continuing from where he left the last year and the 32-year-old batter has already scored a T20I century this year.

He was also a part of the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year captained by World Cup winner Jos Buttler.

On the other hand, Tahlia McGrath from Australia has been named as the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year for scoring 435 runs in 11 innings and picking 13 wickets.
