New Delhi: Cricketer AB de Villiers penned a heartwarming note on social media after being inducted into RCB’s Hall of Fame. On March 26, RCB inducted de Villiers and Chris Gayle into their Hall of Fame and retired their jersey numbers. This was an emotional moment for Mr. 360 and the fans, and to share the emotions he felt, the ex-RCB player shared a post on social media.

Sharing pictures from the event, where he can be seen posing with Gayle, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and his wife Danielle, ABD wrote that his heart blossomed as his wife and kids walked up the stairs to enter their ‘RCB den’. He wrote that tears filled his eyes as he stepped onto the balcony of their dressing room at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. He added that hearing the chants of ‘ABD’ could beat the first time, but this time it was different. He mentioned there used to be adrenaline while playing for the fans, but this time emotions filled him as he felt grateful for representing the franchise in IPL.

Writing about his experience in India, he wrote that so many memories came to his mind as he thought about days spent in India since 2003 and added that he feels a deep connection with this country.

In the end, the batter thanked his teammates and gave a special mention to his close friend Virat Kohli.

ABD has played in 156 matches for RCB and has scored 5162 runs at an average of 41.20 and a strike rate of 158.64. Playing for the franchise, he has hit 37 half-centuries and two centuries. He and Gayle were inducted into the Hall of Fame at the RCB Unbox Event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

AB de Villiers announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in 2021 and that marked the end of his playing career with RCB, but the connect and the fan-following still stands intact.
