It is known that Umesh’s father wanted him to join the police services while he was dreaming to play for India. Tilak Yadav is survived by his three sons and a daughter, including bowler Umesh Yadav.

Umesh is currently part of the squad playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India, however, he did not get to be in the playing XI in the first two Tests. There is a chance that he might be released from the squad, though no official announcement has been made regarding the same. The next Test match will begin in Indore on March 1 and the seam bowler is likely to head home for his father’s last rites.
