Unsold in IPL 2022 auction, Suresh Raina likely to join Gujarat Titans replacing Jayson Roy

Hardik Pandya-led team is likely to get on board Suresh Raina in place of Jason Roy for the IPL 2022.

New Delhi: The two-day IPL 2022 maga auction has completed with many big names who went unsold. Among such players Suresh was the biggest name. Now it is being reported that the new team Gujarat Titans is expected to purchase him to play for this season.

CSK player to replace Jason Roy

Jason Roy, who was set to play for Gujarat Titans in the tournament, has on March 1 announced not to play for the team due to bio bubble fatigue. Ever since the team is looking for his replacement.

Hardik Pandya-led team is likely to have Suresh Raina in place of Jason Roy. Roy has also shared a message on his social media account, informing his exit for the team. The England opener was to play for the team as their opening batsman.

However, any official announcement about Raina from the team is yet to be made.

Suresh Raina went unsold on base price of INR 2 crore

Before the auction, Raina announced his base price of Rs 2 crore for the auction but any team did not showed interest in him to buy him. Notably, Raina’s career in the IPL has been bright. He is the fourth-highest run-getter in IPL history. During his IPL term, he made 5528 run by playing 205 matches.

However, his performance in the last two season was not good. He missed the 2020 IPL due to the personal reason while he made only 160 runs in the 2021 IPL.
