‘We deal with that tomorrow’: Man United’s boss Erik ten Hag unhappy about Cristiano Ronaldo’s early exit against Tottenham

The incident has again raised question marks over the Portugal footballer’s future in the club.

New Delhi: Manchester United’s ace forward Cristiano Ronaldo walked back to the changing room before the final whistle in the game against Tottenham. The early exit has sparked controversy and when Man United’s manager Erik ten Hag was asked about it, he indicated that he would deal with it later. The incident has again raised question marks over the Portugal footballer’s future in the club.

Talking about the incident, Ten Hag said that he does not pay attention ‘today’ and added, “We deal with that tomorrow. I want to keep the focus on this team.” He praised the team for a magnificent 2-0 victory over Tottenham.

The differences between Ronaldo and Ten Hag are not new. In the game, Ronaldo sat on the bench as the used substitute while the manager backed Marcus Rashford starting as the centre forward. The footballer was also criticised by Ten Hag for leaving at half-time during a preseason game against Rayo Vallecano. This season he has scored just two goals in 12 appearances for Manchester United under Erik ten Hag.

There were rumours about Ronaldo leaving United and after his early exit from the match, fans are again speculating the same. Meanwhile, Ten Hag has tried to avoid the issue and opted to not speak much about Ronaldo in front of the media.
