“What does Ponting have to do with Indian cricket?”: Gautam Gambhir replies to Ricky Ponting’s comment on Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir has hit out at Ricky Ponting for his comments on Virat Kohli. In the recent press conference that took place before the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Gambhir questioned the former Australian captain’s credentials to raise fingers at something that isn’t his to worry about.

Recently, the Indian cricket team suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss against New Zealand at home. One of the major problems of India has been the batting problems of the men in blue. Commenting on the batting problems of India, Ponting remarked that Virat Kohli who has been a mainstay of the Indian batting lineup has scored just two hundreds in the last 5 years of his Test career.

In the press conference, when asked about the comments of Ricky Ponting, Gambhir replied:

What does Ponting have to do with Indian cricket? I think he should think about Australian cricket and more importantly have got no concerns whatsoever for Virat and Rohit. I think they are incredibly tough men. They’ve achieved a lot for Indian cricket and they will continue to achieve a lot in the future as well…
