New Delhi: South Africa and Australia Women’s teams are set to face each other in the semifinals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. For the Proteas, it will be a golden opportunity to seek redemption after the debacle that unfolded last year.
Australia defeated the South African Women’s team last time around during the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and clinched their 6th title. However, the Proteas have been in great form in this year’s tournament and will look to stop the Southern Stars from their 7th title.
Australia Women vs South Africa Women: Head-to-head record
Despite going strength to strength in recent years, South African women still lag behind their Australian counterparts in head-to-head records. In the 10 WT20I matches played between the two teams, Australia have won all but one match, with the Proteas’ sole victory coming in January 2024.
Seven of these encounters have been during the Women’s T20 World Cups where Australia have emerged victorious every single time, including crucial matches like the 2023 final and 2020 semi-final matches. However, regarding Dubai, both teams will face each other for the first time at the Dubai International Stadium.
