New Delhi: Team India started the Word Test Championship (WTC) campaign on a good note but within 48 hours of the 5-day final match, have found themselves at the receiving end of netizens. Former skipper Virat Kolhi, in particular, is being trolled, taunted & pulled up for poor show at the Oval in London.
Since Day 1 of the WTC final, Australian have been in top gear and they gave a target of 487 runs to India on Day 2. In reply, the Men in Blue floundered with poor start. The opening batting line-up collapsed as none of the openers including Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma could fire & give a good chase to the Down Under.
Virat Kohli, who won the hearts of fans with back to back centuries on home pitches, failed to fire at the Oval and departed cheaply at 14 runs.
However, more than the cheap dismissal, the cricketer is being trolled & taunted by netizens for gorging on food soon after being bundled out for small score.
The photo of Kolhi having meal in dressing room, after his dismissal landed on social media and went viral in no time. This led to mindless furore on social media, with many venting their ire on the criceketer.
Some netizens said the stars at home turned hopeless on foreign soil while some others poked fun at him for having meal, soon after getting out on a small score.

Virat’s cryptic reply
Later, Kohli took to Instagram shared a cryptic message for the trolls.
While India will begin the Day 3 with 151/5, they are still far away from saving follow-on. They still need to score 119 runs to save themselves from follow-on. Australians are clearly in driver’s seat and are dominating the game.
If India really wants to challenge them, it will require a herculean effort from the entire team else the WTC final could end in an ignominious defeat for the Men in Blue.
