Dhavan who represented the Sunni Waqf Board and other Muslim parties in the Ayodhya title dispute case claimed that he was sacked from the case.
The court also directed the Centre to prepare a road map for installation of air-purifying towers to deal with the pollution crisis in the national capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed for calm ahead of the verdict as security has been beefed in Uttar Pradesh especially in Ayodhya.
The five-judge bench Constitution bench headed by Gogoi was hearing appeals challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court verdict, which ordered equal division of the 2.77-acre of disputed land in Ayodhya among the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and the Ram Lalla.
Chidambaram is currently in judicial custody in Tihar jail in a corruption case related to the alleged scam being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). His remand is slated to end on October 17.
The complainant said that the former president, soon after the imposition of emergency in 2007, had kept 60 judges of the superior courts under detention for over five months at their residences.
