The 'R', or the Reproduction Rate, measures how infectious the coronavirus is - put simply, it is a measure of how many people are infected by one infected person.

Coronavirus in India: The Health Ministery said that the India's COVID-19 testing capacity surges to over 12 lakh daily tests.

The government and Reserve Bank of India have been prompt to take measures for mitigating the impact of pandemic on economy by rolling out stimulus packages, reforms and interest rate cuts.

The total number of positive cases in the country stands at 8,20,916, including 2,83,407 active cases, 5,15,386 cured/discharged/migrated and 22,123 deaths.

The rise in confirmed cases today is lower than the highest spike of 15 thousand plus cases registered on Sunday.

Aarogya Setu app shall be mandatory during this period. The same rules apply for those arriving through land borders as well.

Currently, there are 37,916 active cases while 16,539 COVID-19 positive patients have been cured/discharged and one has migrated.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 1,485 positive cases so far of which 127 patients have recovered and 74 patients have lost their lives due to the deadly virus.
