According to Johns Hopkins University, Brazil has 41,37,521 COVID-19 cases and the US continues to remain on the top spot in the list of worst COVID-hit countries with over 62 lakh cases.
Meanwhile, India's Case Fatality Rate (CFR) stands at 1.76 per cent, one of the lowest globally while global CFR stands at 3.3 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 9,24,998 samples were tested on Wednesday and over 3.85 crore samples have been tested so far.
Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 count crossed 33 lakh-mark with 75,760 fresh cases and 1,023 deaths, in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said.
The total number of samples tested up to 24th August is 3,68,27,520 including 9,25,383 samples that were tested yesterday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) update on Tuesday.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 7,46,608 samples were tested on August 15 and nearly 3 crore samples have been tested so far.
Active coronavirus cases in Maharashtra stand at 1,47,820, the highest in the country followed by Andhra Pradesh with 90,425 active cases.
The total number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 23,29,639 including 6,43,948 active cases, 16,39,600 cured/discharged/migrated.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 6,98,290 samples were tested on August 10 and over 2.52 crore samples have been tested so far.
"The Case Fatality Rate stands at 2.04 per cent today. India has registered one of the lowest deaths per million at 30 as compared to the global average of 91 deaths per million," the Ministry further added.
