After the Kanpur police encounter in which gangster Vikas Dubey was killed, debate broke out on social media over police excesses in eliminating the dreaded criminals. Though a huge lot remained elated over gunning down of criminals, their extra-judicial killing raised question mark on police and govt’s role.
Both govts rejected reports of staged encounter however, the one in UP is quite different from Telangana. Two former DGPs of Uttar Pradesh put strong facts on the table, to drive home their point as to why Kanpur can’t be compared with Telangana encounter.
