Chaos at Kabul airport after Taliban captures power, at least 5 killed in gunfire

New Delhi: Afghanistan has descended into chaos after Taliban took over its capital Kabul. Scenes of anarchy and commotion from various places have surfaced on the social media, triggering panic across the globe.

Not just US and European nations are engaged in evacuating its nationals, India has mounted its efforts to bring back its nationals to safety.

At the Kabul airport, desperate scenes were visible today as people scrambled to get inside planes, hoping to fly out of the country. In the chaos and subsequent gun firing, at least 5 people have reportedly been killed.

Afghan airspace has also been closed following unprecedented uproar and Air India flights coming from US have been re-routed, said sources.

Meanwhile, Taliban fighters and gun wielding militants are running amok in the city. Minutes ago, a photo of Taliban militant brandishing his rifle inside Afghanistan Parliament created flutter on social media.

Taliban has taken control of Afghanistan after President Ashraf Ghani escaped the country and conceded the country to militants. The sudden collapse of Afghan government has triggered wave of fear & panic in Kabul.
