
New Delhi: Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe shot dead at a campaign event on Friday. He was soon rushed to the hospital after he suffered a heart failure after being shot during a campaign speech in western Japan.
The news about Shinzo Abe’ s demise was confirmed by the officials.

The suspect was soon detained after the incident and the gun was ceased from the scene. Police said that Abe was shot from behind with a shotgun.
When was Abe shot?
Shinzo Abe was shot while he was campaigning on a street for Liberal Democratic Party candidate at the House of Councillors election at around 11:30 am.

Abe as Japan’s PM
Shinzo Abe, Japan’s longest-serving prime minister. He had stepped down as the PM in 2020 citing health reasons.
He was elected as the Japan’s Prime Minister twice, from 2006-07 and again in 2012-20.
