Sunak scored 88 votes surpassing Modaunt on 67 and Truss on 50 votes. In the first round, Finance Minster Nadhim Zahawi and former cabinet minister Jeremy Hunt were eliminated as they could not get enough votes.
The election for the party has become necessary after PM Johnson announced his resignation from the post.
