The incident unfolded around 4pm at the Derby Kabaddi grounds.

Eyewitnesses cited by The Sun reported that the altercation was sparked by two rival groups. The testimony revealed that a man was allegedly shot before being subjected to a brutal attack with a sword. As the situation intensified, people scrambled to exit the event venue, providing their details to the police. The Sun also noted a significant police response, with over 20 police cars rushing to the location.
A police spokesperson issued a statement: “We were called to a large scale disturbance in Elvaston Lane, Alvaston at 15.51 on Sunday 20 August.”
