New Delhi: Dune 2, the second edition of Frank Herbert’s 1965 Novel Dune, wreaked havoc at the box office & became the top-grossing movie of 2024.
Following its monumental theatrical triumph, the Denis Villeneuve directorial sci-fi flick, starring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh among other renowned actors, is now set to entertain the OTTians by arriving on digital screens this summer.
When and where to watch Dune 2 online
From 16 April onwards, Dune: Part Two will become eligible for purchasing from selected sellers, allowing the viewers to buy and watch it in both HD and SD format for USD 29.99.
It will also become available for digital rental basis from the same day and users will have the option to rent the film for a 48-hour window (PVOD) for USD 24.99 on platforms like Google Play, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango.
Moreover, the DVD and Blu-Ray versions copies of the science-fiction blockbuster in 4k UHD will also hit the markets on May 14th, providing a rather hassle-free way for fans to watch it from the comfort of their home.
Dune 2 on OTT
While no OTT giant is making Dune 2 available on their platform anytime soon, reports suggest that Warner Bros is likely to license Netflix for streaming the film on their portal within the next few months.
Interestingly, Dune 1 is also accessible for watching on Netflix only & the same further increases the odds of its sequel’s release on the digital platform as well in the coming days. Following Netflix, Dune: Part Two is also expected to mark its arrival on HBO Max which is an integral part of Warner Bros production.
However, as no official date regarding the film’s OTT premier has been unveiled yet, fans have currently no option but to wait for the makers to give more clarity on the same.
Dune 2 Plot and Production
In Dune Part 2, we see a vengeful Paul Atreides joining forces with Fremen and Chani to take revenge on those who are responsible for destroying his family.
The Flicker, made on a mega budget of USD 190 Million, is the production effort of Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Patrick McCormick, Denis Villeneuve, and Tanya Lapointe and was released worldwide under the banner of Legendary Pictures.
