New Delhi: Ranganathan Madhavan is an Indian writer, director, and actor who predominately appeared in Hindi and Tamil films. Madhavan has won four Filmfare Awards South and three Tamil Nadu state Films Awards.

He has been described as one of the few actors in India who is able to achieve pan-Indian appeal, having appeared in seven different languages.

R Madhavan got recognition from the recognition Tamil cinema from the Mani Ratnam’s movie ‘Alai Payuthey’.

And soon actor got the image of a lover boy with notable roles.

1)Rocketry: The Nambi Effect – The movie was written and directed by R Madhavan. The actor cast himself as an actor in the movie too.

The movie was based on the life of ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of being a spy and arrested in 1994. Though free, he was still fighting for justice, with those police officials alleged to have falsely implicated him, still free. The movie was released in 2021 and got a 9.5 rating out of 10  on IMDB.

2) 3 Idiots: 3 Idiots is Raj Kumari Hirani’s 2009 Indian comedy movie which is an adaption of Chetan Bhagat’s novel five-point someone. Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and R Madhavan were in the lead. The story revolves around three friends from engineering college, this movie is a satire on society which keeps on giving peer pressure.

 

3) Tanu weds Manu Returns: Tanu Weds Manu Returns is a 2015 Indian romantic comedy film directed by Aanand L. Ra this movie is a sequel to Tanu weds Manu which was released in 2011. The story carries forward the love story of the couple Mannu Singh and Kangana Ranaut

 

4)  Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein: RHTDM is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring R. Madhavan, Dia Mirza, and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.

The movie revolves around the love story of Madhav ‘Maddy’ Shastri (Madhavan) and Reena Malhotra (Mirza). The latter is set to get engaged to Rajeev (Khan), who is a young man settled in the US and Maddy’s former rival.

 

5)Rang de Basanti: Rang de Basanti is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language drama film written, produced, and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, and co-written by Rensil D’Silva. The film features Aamir Khan,  Siddharth, Atul Kulkarni, Soha Ali Khan, and Sharman Joshi in the lead roles.

The movie is the story of six young Indians who assist an English Woman to film a documentary on the freedom fighters from their past and the events that lead them to relive the long-forgotten saga of freedom.
