Who was Amrita Pandey? The Bhojpuri actress who died by suicide at the age of 27

New Delhi: The Bhojpuri film industry was in shock when 27 year old actress Amrita Pandey allegedly died by suicide in her apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar. The actress originally hailed from Bihar but was staying in Mumbai with her husband. She had apparently gone to her hometown to attend her relatives marriage and decided to stay there for a few days. Police has so far found no suicide note but sources tells us that the actress had posted a strange status in her mobile minutes before her death. She hung herself using her saree from a ceiling fan.

According to the Police, she was up till late in the night when she posted the status, which reads “Kyun do naov par sawaar thi uski zindagi, humne naov dubakar uska safar aasaan kar diya…” The Police will try to begin probe with the help of the cryptic post that she shared minutes before death. During interrogation her relatives and friends told the cops that the actress was fighting with anxiety and depression for quite some time and was seeking help from doctors. However her husband and family members haven’t issued any statement so far.

Who was Amrita Pandey? 

Amrita was born in Bihar’s Bhagalpur. She got married with a man from Bilaspur in 2022. Her husband used to work for the animations. The couple decided to move to Mumbai due to work. She had gone to attend her sister’s wedding and decided to stay for a few more days. However her husband returned to Mumbai. Everything was normal on a Saturday like other days. She got up late and posted a status. Her family informed cops that she was undergoing treatment for depression and this could be a reason for her committing suicide.

The Bhojpuri actress has also worked in many web series and films. She has also worked with the famous Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav in a film. Apart from films, she was also seen in commercials and Hindi web series.
