Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 bookings open: check price and features here
New Delhi: Toyota has opened bookings for the BS6 version of the Toyota Innova Crysta with the prices starting from Rs 15.36 lakh for the base petrol model and Rs 16.14 lakh for the entry-level diesel model.
The Innova Crysta is offered with a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.4-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic variants. Toyota has discontinued the more powerful 2.8-litre diesel-AT powertrain for the BS6 Innova Crysta. The updated Innova Crysta will also be equipped with features like vehicle stability control, hill assist control, and emergency brake signal as standard.
The Innova Crysta has been a strong seller for the company even though it has been priced from ₹ 14.93 lakh to ₹ 22 lakh in India. The BS6 versions get a price hike of about ₹ 43,000 on the lower trims, going up to nearly ₹ 2 lakh on the range-topping versions. The popularity of the car has not diminished as the dealers have said that almost all of their BS4 inventory has been sold, making the transition to the BS6 variant a smooth one.
Toyota is likely to bring in the diesel BS6 Innova Crysta with the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology as well as a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Of course, we know that Toyota offers the same 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel engines in its international market portfolio and both these engines make use of AdBlue technology and we expect the Indian versions to be no different. While we wait to know more about the price of the BS6 Innova Crysta, we expect it to be pricier than before. So, there is a price hike for sure and it is likely to be in the ₹ 1 lakh quadrant.
The rest of the Innova package continues unchanged. There are no other cosmetic or mechanical changes to the MPV, the only notable difference being the 2.4-litre diesel – which could previously only be had with a five-speed manual gearbox – now also comes with the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox.
