Upcoming cars in June 2022: Kia EV6, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Volkswagen Virtus and more

Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza has been one of the widely sold sub-compact SUVs in India.

New Delhi: June is set to be a crucial month for the Indian automobile industry. The industry has already seen various launches and developments in 2022. Various cars will be launched in the month of June, also June will see the re-launching of some new car models too.

Here is the list of cars that are set to be launched this month:

Kia EV6

Kia EV6 will be launched on 2nd June 2022. It is the first fully-electric vehicle launched by the firm in India. Kia is offering the vehicle in India as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) and the firm will be selling only 100 units of EV6 this year. The EV6 ex-showroom price in India is estimated to be around Rs. 60 lakh. The car will come with a 77.4 kWh battery and according to the WLTP cycle, it will offer about 528 km on a single charge. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds.

Volkswagen Virtus

The Volkswagen Virtus is set for a launch next week on 9th June. It is being launched as a successor to Vento, and the car will be in the same league with Skoda Slavia. The Virtus will come with a 25.65 cm VW Play touchscreen infotainment system with 8 speakers. It will have 1.0-litre three-pot TSI and 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engines.

Mahindra Scorpio-N

Mahindra will be launching a new genration  model of their SUV Scorpio. As claimed by Mahindra, Scorpio-N is set to be the ‘Big Daddy of SUVs’. It will be launched as a premium version to the current model of Scorpio and will have the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines as the XUV700.

Citreon C3

Citreon will be launching its second car in India after Citreon C5. Designed as a SUV, it will be launched in the market this month, also its pricing will make it stand in market competition with cars like Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Tata Punch. C3 also features Citreon’s unique style of designing as it has orange accent around fog lamps with plastic body cladding around it.

New Maruti Suzuki Brezza 

Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza has been one of the widely sold sub-compact SUVs in India. The company is deciding to drop the prefix ‘Vitara’ from the name and launch it as Maruti Suzuki Brezza. It will have a 9″ floating infotainment system with other unique features including a 360-degree camera and an electric sunroof, making it the first Maruti car to offer this feature.

Hyundai Venue with a Facelift

Hyundai will be introducing a facelift for their sub-compact SUV, Venue. The new Hyundai Venue will have a few styling updates which includes new front grille, new alloy wheel design and new wraparound LED tail lights. As such, no changes are expected with the 1.0 litre Turbo petrol, 1.2 litres NA petrol and 1.5 litres diesel engines. The starting ex-showroom price of the new Hyundai Venue is estimated to be around Rs. 8 lakhs.
