Bank Holidays in March 2022: Banks to remain close for 13 days next months; Check full list here

New Delhi: As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar list, banks will remain closed for 13 days next month, i.e, in March 2022.
Out of these 13 holidays in the coming month, 7 are those of RBI’s calendar list, while the remaining are weekend holidays of Saturdays and Sundays.
This is to be noted that banks will not remain shut for below mentioned 13 days throughout the country, but will vary from region to region.
Also, banks across the country (with certain exceptions) will be closed on one of the most celebrated festivals ‘Mahashivratri’ and ‘Holi’ falling in the coming month on March 1 and March 18 respectively.
According to a list issued by the Central government, the number of holidays for this month is fixed to be 7 for the month of March, while the rest of the leaves includes all the Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
For the unversed, the banks remain open on the first and third Saturdays of a month and remain shut on second and the fourth Saturdays.
Here’s the list of upcoming holidays in March 2022:
March 1 (Tuesday): On the occasion of Mahashivratri, banks will be closed in Gujarat.
March 3 (Thursday): With Losar falling on this day, banks will remain closed in Sikkim.
March 4: (Friday): Banks will be closed in Mizoram due to Chapchar Kut.
March 17: Thursday: To celebrate Holika Dahan, banks will be shut in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
March 18: (Friday): Due to the festival of Holi, banks will be closed in Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Tripura.
March 19: (Saturday): Banks to be closed Orissa, Manipur and Bihar due to Holi/Yaosang.
March 22: (Tuesday): Banks in Bihar will remain closed to mark the Bihar Divas.
Banks also remain shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. And, on all Sunday’s of the month.
