New Delhi: Elon Musk now owns 100% of Twitter. This week after deliberation, the microblogging platform accepted Musk’s billion-dollar proposal. Initially, CEO Parag Agrawal and the board of directors were opposed to Musk’s purchase, but it is alleged that shareholder pressure forced them to reach a choice in Musk’s favour. Twitter is now purchased by Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO.
Now that Elon Musk is the sole owner of Twitter, let’s take a look back at how it all began and where it’s going:
1. It all began when Musk proposed establishing a social media app because he considered Twitter violated the fundamental concept of free expression.
2. To sum it up, Musk now controls 100% of Twitter. Twitter became a private firm once Musk purchased the service. The billionaire feels Twitter has a great deal of potential, and he wants to help it reach its potential. Musk’s Twitter purchase has the endorsement of Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. Musk’s purchase of Twitter, he thinks, is a positive step for the site.
3. Twitter was purchased by Musk for approximately $44 billion, or $54.20 per share, and all of it was paid in cash. The board was in talks with Musk to sweeten the bid, but he had stated that his bid was the “best” and “final.”
4. Musk obtained a 9.2 percent interest in Twitter early last month. As a result, he became the company’s second-largest shareholder. The first is Vanguard, which owns 10.3 percent of Twitter. Musk stated after purchasing Twitter that he intends to make the network “better than before.”

8. Musk is expected to release the long-awaited Edit feature in the near future. The edit icon has previously been confirmed by Twitter, but with Musk in command, the rollout might be pushed up. Blue users are likely to get the edit button initially, followed by everyone else.
