Sending Dogecoin to the Moon: This is what a YouTuber did on Elon Musk’s 50th birthday (VIDEO)

New Delhi: A month ago, when billionaire Elon Musk tweeted that he will send Dogecoin to the moon, it catapulted the digital currency to new high and set off wave of speculations about the future of the cryptocurrency.

Now, a hard-core fan of Elon Musk has ‘literally’ sent the Dogecoi to the moon. A US-based YouTuber named Reid Williamson has managed to send a tangible version of the meme-cryptocurrency to space. He did this to mark the 50th birthday of Dogecoin father Elon Musk.

On April 1, Elon Musk had tweeted, “SpaceX is going to put a literal Dogecoin on the literal moon.” Musk’s commercial rocket company SpaceX later said that it will launch “DOGE-1 Mission to the Moon” in the first quarter of next year i.e. 2022 and it will be funded by this crypto currency.

“Reid and his friends set up the balloon with the Dogecoin securely fastened onto it and a camera attached to it. They launched this balloon into space. Video from the footage shows that the weather balloon stayed in space for a considerable amount of time. It later landed about 30 miles away from where it took off, reported a leading daily.

Dogecoin is one of the few cryptocurrencies that suddenly grabbed eyeball after Elon Musk tweeted about it and sent its price spiralling.

Musk’s fresh tweet gives boost to Dogecoin

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk can’t stop tweeting about his favorite cryptocurrency ‘DOGECOIN’. After a relatively long hiatus, the billionaire posted a meme, “Unleash the Doge!”.


The crypto community responded quickly to this, with people as always divided, the dogecoin price jumped by 4% following the post.
