
PM Modi receives second dose of COVID-19 vaccine
New Delhi: BJP national president JP Nadda on Sunday applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effort as India completed one year of covid vaccination.
It was on this day in 2021, the nationwide COVID 19 vaccination started. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from June 21, 2021
More than 158 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed on Sunday in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
Exactly a year ago, India embarked on the arduous journey of vaccinating its more than 135 crore people amidst the raging Covid pandemic. India has so far administered 156 crore vaccine doses, of which 99 crore doses have been given in rural India. 70% of our adult population is fully vaccinated. Also, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called India’s vaccination drive “the most successful in the world,” on #1YearOfVaccination.
India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 156.76 crore. More than 66 lakh vaccine doses have been administered in last 24 hrs.

The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.
As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost.
In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
Meanwhile, India reported 2,71,202 new COVID-19 cases, 314 deaths and 1,38,331 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.
