Bikaner to be first city in country to begin door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination

New Delhi: Bikaner in Rajasthan is set to become the first city in India to begin the door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination drive in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus pandemic. According to reports,

Bikaner in Rajasthan will become the first town in the country to start a “door-to-door” vaccination drive in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus pandemic, a report said on Sunday. According to Live Hindustan, HT’s sister publication, people above the age of 45 will be given the vaccine against Covid-19 during the drive-in Bikaner.

The district administration has issued a helpline so that beneficiaries can register for vaccination by providing their names and addresses using that WhatsApp number.

At present, there are 16 urban primary health centers in Bikaner. The doctors at these health centers have been asked to monitor the persons getting inoculated at home.

Rajasthan has so far given 1st dose to over 33.15 lakh people, while 1,109 have received the second jab.

Meanwhile, 368 new COVID-19 infections pushed the state’s infection tally to 9,49,376 on Saturday, while the COVID-19 death toll in the state rose to 8,815 with 16 more fatalities.

Among the new cases, 55 were reported from Jaipur while 40 and 28 were from Alwar and Bikaner respectively.
